We created a great open space that incorporates the kitchen, the dining area and the family room. This way, you can have large gatherings with your friends and family.
The style is a mix between country/cottage and modern design. The big furniture items: sofas, custom made media cabinets, the dining room table, have simple and very elegant modern lines, while the details are in a more rustic theme: the dining lamps, the dining console, rugs and pillows. We used earthy tones and a lot of white and added accent colors for the big family room armchair, the kitchen bench, the dining room rug and the round ottomans.
Kitchen and Dining
We've incorporated the pantry niche into the kitchen area. That niche is now easier to access and the kitchen looks bigger.
Also, we've moved the door to the hallway so that the fridge could fit in that corner, in order to create a coherent furniture line: fridge+bench + open shelves tall unit.
For the breakfast nook, we've opted for a bench seating and some funny chair. The island seemed to make the space feel crammed without adding much storage space, so we considered it was not the best option. Also, we decided to go for a more open plan by breaking part of the wall between the kitchen and dining. The wooden room divider is a decorative item that adds elegance and style to this area.
New Family room
The family room can host about 8 people, so it is great for family gatherings or movie nights with friends.
In order to bring the tv closer to the center of the wall across the main sofa, we "stretched" the staircase wall and placed a tv furniture that continues on the other side of the wall, creating a separation between the entry and family room.
Sitting room/ home office
This room has a double function now- home office and den room.
