I have an unusual shaped family room and kitchen nook area. The room is used mostly for the kids and I to watch tv or read. However when we have more visitors, it isn't very conducive for conversations. I would like to:
1) figure out how to increase seating (and have a better layout) so that people can talk to each other when we have company over, while still being able to have it work as a tv room.
2) identify interesting window coverings (I hate traditional drapes). The sliding glass door faces south west.
3) determine if there is an alternative layout that captures some of the unused space between the kitchen and the family room.
