In order to capture the most of the views towards the sea and the surrounding nature I propose adding new windows on south and west façade. New entryway is moved more south. Interior wall that is now dividing kitchen from the living room is largely removed, one smaller part of it is kept for forming the pantry. Open plan kitchen with kitchen island becomes part of everyday living areas. See-through fireplace is adding some drama and is easy to construct. Some built-in shelves can hold books or tv if needed. Built-in bench seating is in the corner of the room. New position of the stairs leading to the lower level is behind bench seating, along the wall. New powder room, new bathroom (with double vanity, shower and toilet) and linen closet are reconfigured.
Existing façade columns are being emphasized in natural wood color, with overhang trellis being added over the garage door and two newly formed openings that can become future windows on the lower level. Until being made into windows, two new openings are simply covered in screen fence, with some potted flowers placed in front of them.
