Thank you for your submission, and for sharing your design proposal. I like what you proposed; it was interesting, and I learned a lot about how I might decorate/design my living room.
I especially like that you listed each and every item, the cost of each and every item, and the specific websites where I could go to see and purchase these items. This is a big help, and you were, I think, the only designer to do this. Thank you!
Your design itself was too simple and uninspiring, though. The room right now is pretty barren, and what you proposed doesn't seem to add much -- just a couch and a couple of chairs. And the couch and chairs don't seem that comfortable.
I would have liked a more homey and alluring design. The room should be inviting, warm and welcoming, but I don't get that from your design. It seems sterile. We need more color and more accessories, i think. A simple, plain white couch doesn't cut it.
I also downgraded you on buildability, because, unlike some of the other designers, you didn't provide much detail about specs and dimensions for any of the wall units, furniture or accessories.
Equally important, you didn't give me any details about the shelving next to the fireplace. How many shelves and what size should those shelves be? I have no idea, because you didn't tell me.
Ditto the carpet. What size should it be? The carpet that I now have is too small, I think, but you seem to have left it in place.
That said, I probably should have been more explicit about what, exactly, I was looking for. So i can't fault you that much. This has been a learning experience for me.
Still, thank you for your design/furnishing proposal. It did finish in third place, and I did learn a lot. Moreover, unlike the first design that did win, it is functional.
