We are looking for help designing a landscape plan for a cabin that we are building in North Georgia on the river. The main purpose of building this cabin is to be able to enjoy the serenity and the outdoors! We don't need to go crazy and definitely don't want anything too high maintenance since we will only be there a weekend or two a month.
The property is fairly bare. The driveway is currently gravel, but we are thinking about paving it. We are looking to dress up the front minimally. Maybe just a little shrubbery or design around the front of the house. I suppose we could line the driveway or something if that is what would look nice.
We would like our main focus to be in the backyard overlooking the river. Our house is built into a hill so that we could stay out of the floodplain of the river, but we really want it to feel connected.
We want to concentrate on the area under the upper deck and around the back of the house. Then we would like some sort of path or connection to the area close to the water. Maybe some sort of fire pit? Or conversation area? Some sort of deck or platform near the river? Room for hammocks or seating. We plan to entertain there and want it to be visually pleasing and inviting for children and adults.
