For this project we wanted to create functional space that would incorporate all the spaces you desired.
We placed the main areas- the wet bar and entertainment area- in the center of the basement in an open space that makes the room seem bigger and lighter.
The dining/game table is visually separated now from the kitchenette and living room.
The gym and the bathroom/ laundry room are completely separated from this spaces. So this area can be soundproofed.
In order to create more seating places we've designed a bar island in the wet bar area. The little problem was that the vent pipe was right in the center of it, so we've moved in the the gym area, near the boiler (please see the annotation plan)
As for the style, we tried to get obtain the beach cottage look combined with a forest house idea. So we used wood textures on the floor and ceiling to give warmth and coziness, but also added some blue shades and textures that evoke the sea.
The east wall was used for wine storage: we've build a false stone textured wall that incorporates the wooden racks.
The walls are decorated with representative painting for New England history.
We've also included a stove in the dining area and a fireplace in the living room in order to add some more rustic feel.
You can welcome guests without any problems, because they have their own private bedroom.
Plus, we've designed a very bohemian berth under the stairs, surrounded by shelves for books and art ornaments.
We liked the ring very much, so it became the main piece in the living room area.
